Sort by: Rating 5.0 classic 4.5 superb 4 +.25 fanboyism/local pride +.25 for the sheer innovation of this album. If i had a motherfucking time machine 4.0 excellent now you can't get into veggie heaven An excellent debut for such a young group of dudes. Aggressive and catchy as fuck. Only downside is that the lyrics are repetitive and somewhat generic, leaving a bit more to be desired. RIYL Title Fight, Basement, Daylight. Lyrics are a bit over the top but this ep has some of the best riffs you'll hear in modern hardcore i refuse to burn i REFUSE TO BURN without a mouth full of smoke this shit is awesome.
I think i'm going to review this. Absurdly catchy and well done topshelfy emo. Ffo: YBI!, Prawn, Grown Ups, etc. Fuck you get pumped it takes a really special rap album to catch my interest and useless eaters is just that. Gdp combines clever lyrics with a belligerent and straightforward delivery. His songs hold a rlot of substance and, at times, emotion.
I'LL NEVER BE A MORNING PERSON I'LL NEVER BE WHAT ANYONE WANTS ME TO BE TEACHER SAID I'M WASTING MY POTENTIAL BUT I CAN ONLY POTENTIALLY BE ME Do you ever say my name, or do you ever write down broken thoughts and turn them into songs to throw away. Do you ever close your eyes and wish they'll never open again? Moral crux brings the riffs y'all are trippin this is great best emo release since snowing? Pentimento's self-titled LP is basically the perfection of everything they've shown on their previous releases: great vocal harmonies, incredibly tight drumming, and a phenomenal use of dynamics all topped off by top-notch production. The 11 tracks are cohesive and consistent and are all memorable in their own right. One thing to be said about the band is that their overall presentation and lyrical content is very straightforward serious in nature, and at times can come off as a bit overdone.
That aside, the band's debut full length delivers in every right and is right up there with other 2012 releases from the genre's bigger acts like Title Fight and Basement. Didn't think they'd top expect the worst. BUT DEY DID 2 o da best dopamines songs (douglas bubbletrousers is my fav by them) and 2 rad dear landlord songs These guys are awesome live and this album shows it. No bullshit, just playing straight up. And the spoken word part in Cadence is audible, which is a plus. IIIIIIIIIIIIII DON'T WANT TO WALK OUTSIDE, CAUSE WHERE WOULD I GO?
3.5 great this is a DGD album. Don't let the other comments fool you. We are not permanent. Download/buy/listen to this. Although their sound is somewhat derivative, really tight musicianship and original lyrics set these dudes apart from most of the other pop punk bands of this ilk. So this is out now Fireworks have really strong lyrics for the type of pop punk they play.
As for this EP, I would say it's a mix of the sound of Gospel and All I Have to Offer. Which makes sense since it came out between the two.
Check out 'Anthem for Redemption', if nothing else. Song rules hard. Yeah this is a high 3.5. I WOULD DIE IN THE GUTTER IF I COULD EVEN CRAWL THAT FAR these guys are great musicians but they're forever destined to be a 3.5 free download: one of the best bands going right now. Check em outttt boyeee xibalba brings the Zs pretty good great sound but the lyrics are incredibly bland. Check out 'Together' Lyrical cliches like 'and though we are so far apart, you are always here in my heart' take away from this otherwise excellent melodic hardcore album. This really is pretty awesome.
Can be a bit homogeneous at times but overall the lyrics are gripping and the vocal performance is outstanding. They also mix in some elements of post-rock akin to PBTT and borrow from them pretty heavily in the lyrical department as well.
The fourth track featuring Jami Morgan from Code Orange Kids rules hard. Not quite up to par with Hoffman Manor or the self-titled EP but still a solid release. My biggest complaint is that the lyrics can be off-putting and borderline lazy at times. However, there are some phenomenal tracks on here (Linger, Indian Burn, The Same Mistake), as well as some duds (Shit for Brains, Kids). Lots of breakdowns, lots of 'BLEH's, and lots of cheesy parts, but still really awesome. Free Navman Australia Maps. I am enjoying this album way more than I should.
I also feel very insecure at the end of Relapse: Signs. Because it's basically like I'm listening to Emmure which I am not okay with. Ok i thought you guys were pulling a 'sempiternal' on me but this is actually pretty good. Let's be honest this band can't put out a bad song This is a change of pace for Title Fight. Much more of an emo feel to it as opposed to a catchy pop-punk one. The lyrics have improved big time, and all in all it's cohesive and heartfelt. Suara Burung Kolibri Om Kicau. However, it doesn't have the same catchiness and appeal that made me listen to The Last Thing You Forget 50+ times.
Tilde is the best fucking song. Rest of the album is great. But Tilde and Amends are clearly the standout tracks. A softer approach for Transit. Nonetheless, two solid tracks with some impressive guitarwork reminiscent of twinkle-daddy emo bands like Capn' Jazz and Snowing. Thorns is one of the coolest songs TT has done. Wavves song is ok.
Typical wavves. Catchy, generic pop punk doesn't get any better than this. Catchy and energetic, albeit generic, melodic hardcore with some goofy-ass lyrical sections. 3.0 good some of the singing and lyrics are lazy as fuck but overall teenwitch is dark and pretty moving.
Some of the tracks could benefit from being longer. Best track is easily TroubledYouth. An overpolished, overambitious augmentation of the sound bmth has hinted at on their past two albums. Nothing groundbreaking but really fun to listen to. Also there is some great guitar work.
Citizen half = 3.5 turnover half = 2.5 overall split = 3 I'm glad this band went in the right direction. However, they have some incredibly generic lyrics which definitely takes away from the album a bit. Foxing's song rules but the other band is real generic. Not bad though.
The samples are annoying as fuck but the songs are good pretty bland tbh I can't help but feel like this is an unnecessary release. 1978 is a fun track, but most of the acoustic stuff blends together much more than the original songs did, and the singing seems over-the-top and sappy at times. Not a BAD album, but not necessarily an interesting one either. I shuddered at the 'to the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world' line in the first track.
Predictable as fuck post-hardcore/melodic hardcore. Definitely an improvement from their older sound. 2.5 average There are a lot of good ideas on this album, and the musicianship seems to be pretty tight. RSome of it just came over as sickeningly cheesy, though - I actuallyd 'Sing This!' Rfrom my computer, because it kind of ruined the album for me. Anyways, there are some real rstandout moments on the album like the synth at the end of 'Project Wakeup', and 'The Common rHours', which quickly became one of my favorite songs of this genre. This band kinda sucks.
They need a new singer. Or something. Some cool guitar riffs, though. Blandcore with a few gems. I prefer the s/t to this. 'Repeating Apologies' is one of the best songs they've written. Catchy pop-punk, nothing more, nothing less.
SYG fans have every right to be a bit disappointed, but it could have been much, much worse. 2.0 poor as boring as hundredth? I'll leave that for you to decide. Wat a piece of shit 'a part of me' is one of the most lolworthy songs i have ever heard. The rest of the ep isn't horrible it's just incredibly generic and trite. 1.5 very poor 1.0 awful i haven't insta-oned an album in a while but this seems like a prime candidate // // Bands: Site Copyright 2005-2017 Sputnikmusic.com All Album Reviews Displayed With Permission of Authors .
